**Electrical Maintenance Engineer**
Initial 2-month contract + Likely extensions
Location: Greater Manchester / Northwest
Rate: Up to £34.50p/h DOE (Limited – Outside IR35 / PAYE / Umbrella)
Shifts: Panama Days and Nights
High-Speed / Machinery / Automation

We are currently recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Engineer on a contract basis for a leading client based in Greater Manchester. This well-established company is renowned for its innovation in the design and production of secure documents, including currency and other high-security items.

Responsibilities for the Electrical Maintenance Engineer role include:

  • Managing reactive breakdowns and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) to ensure the efficient operation of electrical systems
  • Working on critical electrical systems including motors, control panels, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and automated machinery
  • Ensuring compliance with safety standards in a high-volume, fast-paced industrial production environment
  • Logging and reporting necessary maintenance and operational data in accordance with internal processes
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance electrical system reliability and plant performance

Key skills and attributes required:

  • Time-served electrical apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
  • Experience with electrical systems such as control panels, PLCs, motors, and automation systems
  • Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, particularly in high-speed, automated settings
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail with a focus on improvements and system reliability
  • Site Safety Card – CSCS / CCNSG
