Position: Senior Manufacturing Electronic Engineer (Permanent)Location: Dublin, Ireland/Hybrid

Role Summary:A leading company in the security solutions industry is seeking a Senior Electronic Engineer to join their dynamic R&D team. In this role, you will support existing products and introduce new products to contract manufacturers. You will be tasked with analyzing and solving issues in manufacturing, while ensuring that electronic components meet relevant standards and regulatory approvals.

Some limited travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the introduction of new products to manufacturing (including Bill of Materials, RoHS/REACH/UL/EN alternatives, Test Procedures, Assembly Instructions, and the design of test fixtures).
  • Assist in the transfer and update of existing products to manufacturing.
  • Support the move of products to new manufacturing locations.
  • Address manufacturing maintenance issues using Agile Kanban for prioritization.
  • Identify alternate components when needed (e.g., End-of-Life or cost reduction).
  • Design test fixtures and perform schematic design.
  • Conduct supplier process audits to ensure adherence to relevant standards.
  • Identify material and process cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to ensure Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT).
  • Analyze and solve product-related issues raised by the QA team or customers.
  • Work closely with the supply chain to prevent product supply interruptions.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ post-graduate experience in electronic engineering.
  • Degree or relevant qualification in Electronic Engineering.
  • Experience in product release to manufacturing, transferring production builds, and supporting ramp-ups.
  • Conduct First Article Inspections from new manufacturing lines.
  • Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing build issues, including test fixtures and production lines.
  • Experience supporting and resolving customer product issues.
  • Strong understanding of analogue and digital fault-finding.
  • Bill of Materials management, including alternate component sourcing and ECO releases.
  • Familiarity with environmental standards like RoHS, REACH, CMRT, TSCA.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 is beneficial.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Willingness to travel for supplier audits and visits.
