Position Available: Power Electronics Engineer

Location: Hertfordshire

Salary: Up to £45,000 DoE + Bonus

Experience needed: We are seeking a skilled Power Electronics Engineer with a solid background in electronic design/delivery and proven experience in power electronics.

About the role:

As a Power Electronics Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing and developing the electronic systems that power our advanced defence products. Working as part of a highly skilled team, you will contribute to the entire product lifecycle - from feasibility and prototyping to testing, certification, and transition to production. Your expertise in power electronics will help drive the control and actuation systems that ensure the precision and reliability of our products in critical applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and test power electronics circuits for motor control and system actuation
  • Support prototyping, integration, and design proving activities to validate hardware performance
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless system integration
  • Work on early-stage feasibility studies and technology assessments
  • Ensure compliance with stringent safety, security, and quality standards
  • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and project delivery

What we need from you:

  • Strong experience in Power Electronics design, including circuit design and testing
  • Experience working within high-integrity industries with safety-critical requirements
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving and team working
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and work across multiple teams
