Job Title: Environmental Advisor - SHEQ

Salary: £50,000 to £55,000

Location: Stepps, Scotland

Type: Perm / full time / hybrid

(This role can be considered on long term contract - inside IR35)

About The Role

Our client is looking to strengthen their SHEQ team with an Environmental Advisor for their ESD joint venture framework. Based in the Stepps office, you will travel throughout the Central Belt region, supporting and assisting in the delivery of project environmental objectives and targets.

You will report directly to the Head of Health and Safety, and your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking monthly SSERs on projects in line with the SSER Schedule environmental aspects of the project. This will also include any Parent Company focus areas as and when required.
  • Carrying out advisory visits monthly on projects to provide support and assistance to projects.
  • Assisting and reviewing outputs from initial site screening assessments with design and preparation teams.
  • Leading design-based environmental audits on projects within the preparation and design phase.
  • Reviewing and providing assistance to site teams in the completion of environmental licence applications and responses to planning conditions.
  • Managing liaison with the client's regional environmental advisors (SW SSD Environment).
  • Leading delivery of ESD Environmental training, including BMS for the business, as and when required.
  • Participating in any client-required initiatives, working groups, or forums as and when required.

About The Candidate

  • Degree level qualification; MSc preferred in a relevant subject area.
  • Membership of an appropriate professional body preferred.
  • Good experience of working in construction across the full lifecycle.
  • Experienced in environmental auditing and working with environmental regulations, e.g., SEPA / SNH.
