You initial duties will be a strong support to the Quality Assurance team and your key focus of this role is to is to ensure that food safety, legality and quality requirements are always adhered to and to help drive the Food safety culture amongst your stakeholders.
You will be responsible for raising and documenting issues, making decisions and investigating any deviations from standard process such as consumer complaints or factory incidents in relation to food safety or quality
* Assist teams to ensure food safety, product quality and legality are adhered to in the manufacturing areas
* Report & document any food safety, legality or quality incidents using the NCR and Safe reporting system
* Complete scheduled audits (including HACCP, GMP, Systems and Glass audits)
* Review and analyse x-ray and metal detection rejects
* Investigate Consumer complaints
* Maintain, audit and archive Quality and Processing documentation and samples
* Maintain a presence on the factory floor, to proactively support and influence the production of safe, Legal and great quality products
You must have UK food manufacturing experience, knowledge of HACCP and exposure to BRC is advantageous.
Food Technology/Food Science or related degree is desirable but not essential.
Confident communication skills are vital for this role in order to liaise with members of staff and third parties
The position will suit a forward thinking and affable individual who works well in a team and with a keen passion for delivering and with good organisational skills and ambitions to progress up the Quality/Technical ladder!
