Role and Responsibilities –

To ensure the manufacturing cell achieves the required level of output in line with laid down production targets and the company's overalls goals for the delivery of cost-effective, high-quality products and excellent customer service. Effectively manage teams for maximum output.

  • Manages compliance with Prima Dental Group Employee Handbook and all policies, procedures and work instructions
  • To support and conduct all relevant employee relations meetings to include investigation, disciplinary and grievance
  • Actively manage all employee performance ensuring that good performance is recognised, and poor performance is managed
  • Supports your team in the delegating of workload, be flexible and reactive when managing breaks, absence and supervising the activities of the day-to-day operational needs of the business
  • Manages attendance and controls absence including the cover thereof based on priority, flow and WIP, ensuring all required documentation is completed, including absence notifications, RTW (return to works), absence review meetings and Bradford Factor meetings are completed in a timely manner, collaborating with The People Team
  • Plays an active part in ensuring the cascade of information to relevant direct reports and that information is consistent, accurate and timely utilising such media as e-mail, verbal communication etc.
  • Ensure that your team are fully trained and compliant in HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) process and procedures, signed off and aware of all the relevant RAs and WIs and know how they can access them and signed of as competent to operate the required equipment
  • Plans and supports recruitment, selection and induction needs for your team and support other teams where required
  • Ensures employees' roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and understood in order to manage expectations and accountability at all levels
  • Ensures the team are skilled to deliver and achieve production goals on time and in full, delivering individual training plans with succession in mind and manage resources to flex and adapt to cover requirements within your team
  • Carries out regular/time defined employee appraisals, with your team members and support their growth and development needs
  • Regularly engage with your team members for innovation and idea generation to improve the day-to-day process. Supporting the identification, selection and delivery of agreed improvements from your team within the prescribed timescales and maintain the upkeep of project status and ensure your team are always up to date with progress and developments
  • Employee engagement – empowerment to improve morale, job satisfaction through active engagement, support, listening and resolution of issues
  • Actively supports and promotes your own personal development by attending coaching and mentoring sessions and be aware at all times of your development areas and agreed improvements
  • Collaborates and works across the value chain supporting and optimising the wider needs of the business when required

Experience or Qualifications

  • IOSH Managing Safety Qualification
  • CMI/ILM Level 3 or equivalent leadership qualification
  • First Aid
  • Risk Assessment, COSHH and Permit to Work
  • Fire Marshall
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Proven managerial experience in a Manufacturing environment, developing and managing a successful team and engaging the workforce, with a track record of delivering against KPI's
  • Manufacturing Techniques and Experience in Problem Solving (Lean and CI)
  • Lean Sigma White Belt
  • Competency in Microsoft Office and computer literacy
  • Strong communication skills
  • People/Team Development
