Driver Trainer

The overall purpose of the Driver Trainer role is to provide instruction and training to all new and experienced drivers in order to ensure safe, efficient and effective driving practices. The main responsibilities include teaching and assessing driving skills, communicating rules and regulations and helping drivers develop good habits and safe driving techniques, ensuring we are being fuel efficient.

(Driver Training)

  • Instruct drivers in safe operation of all motor vehicles

  • Train drivers to manufacture fuel efficiency

  • Develop and implement driver training programs

  • Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on drivers performance

  • Maintain records of drivers training sessions

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations

  • Implement drivers CPC courses

  • To complete all tasks deemed to be a reasonable request by any colleague in a timely, efficient and safe manner

Skills & Experience Required

  • High levels of patience

  • Ability to manage conflict

  • Current relevant class of license, driver CPC and Digi card

  • Ability to teach driving skills and course skills

  • Train the trainer or equivalent qualification

Knowledge

  • Driving Laws and Regulations

  • UK driving license (penalty points can be discussed/ accommodated)

  • Knowledge of UK roads and networks

Personal Qualities/Other

  • Physically fit and well to support safe loading and unloading of vehicles

  • Good communication skills, professional and friendly approach

  • Must be methodical, keen eye for detail

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure

  • Be flexible and able to travel to different locations across the UK when needed
