Redwood is very excited to be working exclusively with one of Ireland’s leading suppliers of mock examinations, who are looking to recruit three new Editors to join their established editorial team, on a full-time or part-time basis. Our client produces examination documents used by secondary school students in their mock Junior and Leaving Certificate examinations. These roles can be worked on a hybrid basis from their Dublin office, either full or part-time and are permanent positions.
We are looking for candidates who have a speciality in one of the following subjects: Irish, German or Maths.
The Editor will work in all areas of the editorial process, from commissioning through to significant refinement in content, design, and layout, to final printing. The role will also involve liaising directly with educators; editing and rewriting text and enhancing layout. Line by line editing is a crucial element of this role as is a strong interest in the precise presentation of finished documents. This is a highly interesting, rewarding and varied role, in that the role comprises many elements from the beginning to the end of the process.
The ideal candidates will have strong attention to detail, proficiency in MS Word and demonstrable editorial experience in copyediting/proofreading and ideally experience within the education sector in the subjects in German, Maths or Irish, and a willingness to adapt and learn on the job.
However, candidates who do not have editorial experience, but have an honours degree and work experience in one of the required disciplines (German, Maths, Irish), and are interested in working as an Editor in the education sector, and based in Ireland will also be considered.
