Would you like to use your maths knowledge in an editorial capacity? One of Ireland’s leading suppliers of mock examinations is looking to recruit a new Editor with speciality in the subject of Maths to join their established, friendly editorial team, on a full or part-time basis. Our client produces examination documents used by secondary school students in their mock Junior and Leaving Certificate examinations, and they offer a hybrid working arrangement, from their Dublin office. This is a permanent position, and candidates will need to be based in Ireland.

The Editor will work in all areas of the editorial process, from commissioning through to significant refinement in content, design, and layout, to final printing. The role will also involve liaising directly with educators; editing and rewriting text and enhancing layout. Line by line editing is a crucial element of this role as is a strong interest in the precise presentation of finished documents. This is a highly interesting, rewarding and varied role, in that the role comprises many elements from the beginning to the end of the process.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, proficiency in MS Word and ideally some editorial experience in copyediting/proofreading. You will ideally also have some experience within the education sector in the subject of Maths and a willingness to adapt and learn on the job.

However, candidates who do not have editorial experience, but have an honours degree and work experience in Maths and are interested in working as an Editor in the education sector, and based in Ireland will also be considered.
