Role: -Forensic Failure Investigation Engineer (Mechanical/metallurgy bias)

Russell Taylor Group have a fantastic opportunity for a Forensic Engineer to join a Forensic Investigation firm on a remote basis.
Our client is looking for someone that has a mechanical/metallurgy focused background with industrial based experience of forensic investigations.

Responsibilities
Analysing mechanical failures and incidents. Ensuring that the investigations are thorough.
Preparing detailed reports that include technical analysis, visual documentation and legal claims.
Provide expert testimony.
Perform on-site inspections
Collect and preserve evidence.
Document findings through notes, photographs and diagrams.
Analyse mechanical systems and materials to identify failures and root causes. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of forensic experts.
Provide expert testimony in in legal proceedings as required.
Explain complex concepts in lay terms.
Stay up to date with industry standards and regulations.

The Person
Educated to degree level or equivalent in a mechanical, metallurgy or similar project.
CEng with IMechE or IMMM preferred or willingness to work towards Chartered status.
Extensive experience in failure analysis.
In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, materials science, and failure analysis techniques.
Familiarity with industry standards and codes.
Experience with forensic tools & material testing.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to travel when required and at short notice (Some overnight and overseas trips)
