We are seeking a hands-on and commercially driven General Manager to lead a hotel with a large M&E offering for up to 250 guests. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong focus on financial performance, operational excellence, and business growth. Working closely with the Sales Manager, the General Manager will support initiatives to maximize revenue from weddings, corporate events, and M&E bookings while ensuring seamless operations and outstanding guest experiences.

General Manager Salary: Up to £60,000 plus 25 annual days off work plus bank holidays, pension, private medical and discretionary bonus.

General Manager Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full P&L accountability, managing budgets, forecasting, and cost controls to drive profitability.
  • Monitor and analyze key revenue streams, ensuring optimization of rooms, M&E, and F&B.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Manager to support sales strategies and revenue-generating initiatives.
  • Ensure financial targets, KPIs, and cost efficiencies are met while maintaining service excellence.
  • Report on business performance and identify opportunities for commercial growth.
  • Oversee the day-to-day hotel operations, ensuring seamless service delivery across all departments.
  • Ensure strong collaboration between departments, including events, F&B, front office, and housekeeping.
  • Implement best practices in guest experience, service standards, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain compliance with health & safety regulations and brand standards.
What We're Looking For:
  • Proven experience as a General Manager or Deputy General Manager in a hotel with a strong events offering.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in P&L management, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • A hands-on leader with experience managing hotel operations, M&E, and F&B.
  • Ability to support and work closely with the Sales Manager to drive business growth.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a track record of team development and performance management.
