INTRODUCTION
We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join our growing team as General Manager. You should have at least 2 years’ experience working at the level of a General Manager or Production Coordinator in a film, theatre, TV or live events production office.
Role: General Manager (THE HERDS)
Salary: From £50,000 per annum (paid pro rata) dependent on experience
Contract: Freelance self-employed contract, full time (5 days per week)\
Duration: A fixed term contract with a minimum fixed term of seven months from February to August 2025 subject to possible extension for future productions of THE HERDS and other projects.
Immediate start is preferred but not essential

ABOUT US
The Walk Productions creates large scale public art works at the highest artistic level designed to challenge assumptions, rethink narratives and provoke change. At the heart of our first production ‘The Walk’ was "Little Amal" - a 3.5 meter tall puppet of a Syrian refugee child who has travelled through 18 countries meeting 2 million people. Her walk has been described as ‘one of the most ambitious live artworks ever staged’.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The core responsibilities of the role will include:
- Accountancy and Governance: Creating project accounts and finance reports for Executive Director; Working closely with external accountants and auditors on Corporation Tax returns, annual accounts and VAT return; Management of expense claims processes.
- Contracts: Cast and crew contracts negotiation and issue; Digital Per Diems management and flow; Partnerships contracts and memos; Payroll for touring company members.
- Hires: Managing external hires contracts such as vehicles and touring equipment
- Policies: Strategise insurance, Health and Safety, CBS and Safeguarding policies, in addition to training and certification for company.
- Travel and Accommodation: Book and manage travel, accommodation and ground transportation for THE HERDS tour including creating itineraries, rooming lists and special requests; Negotiate and contract vehicle hires including investigating sponsorship deals, troubleshooting breakdowns and vehicle replacements; Strategise and organise drivers’ insurance and international licenses.
- VISAs: Complete ongoing VISA research and strategy; Submit applications and trouble shoot issues as they arise.
