We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and highly motivated PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team in Kempston. Key Responsibilities of a PMLD Teaching Assistant:

Provide personalized one-to-one and small group support for students with PMLD.
Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
Assist students with physical needs, including personal care, mobility, and feeding, ensuring dignity and safety at all times.
Create a positive, supportive learning environment that encourages student engagement and growth.
Work closely with the SEN team to track progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
Utilize specialist equipment and resources to facilitate engaging and accessible learning activities.
Collaborate with parents, carers, and external professionals to support holistic student development.

Requirements of a PMLD Teaching Assistant:

Previous experience working with children or young people with PMLD in an educational setting.
A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to working with students with complex needs.
Familiarity with Makaton, PECS, or other communication methods (highly desirable).
Knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice and safeguarding policies.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning, SEN diploma, or equivalent).
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
