The role - IT Support Specialist
The salary - £28,000 - £35,000
The location - Glasgow, or able to attend the Glasgow head office twice a week.
Hybrid working is available for this role with two days on-site a week being the expectation.
I'm working with a fantastic organisation as they look to add an IT Support Specialist to act as the on-site point of contact for all IT support for their Scotland sites. The role will predominantly be focused around providing technical support to internal users at their Glasgow site, both in-person and remotely, across a full range of software and hardware requirements. The role will also involve occasional travel to external sites across Scotland for technical implementation of hardware and software, so a valid UK driving license is required.
Your day-to-day:
- Provide 1st and 2nd line support to users both in-person and remotely.
- Follow up helpdesk tickets to ensure completion within agreed timelines.
- Travel to external sites across Scotland for technical implementation of hardware and software.
- Experience managing network environments with multiple points of interconnectivity.
- Patch management for servers and workstations.
- Build management of laptops and desktops.
- Roll out upgrades to devices.
- Respond to IT security incidents and carry out necessary follow up actions.
- Recommend and implement new technologies.
- Work alongside third parties to deliver upon implementation projects.
About you:
- Experience delivering 2nd line support in a fast paced environment.
- Experience managing IT systems implementation and integration.
- You'll have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work alongside external stakeholders during site implementations.
- Knowledge of basic networking protocols.
- Strong understanding of managing multiple endpoints with different operating systems.
- Experience with Windows Servers.
- Knowledge of managing multiple endpoints within Meraki and Intune.
