Network Operations Engineer £40-42k

Our multi-award-winning client is seeking a highly motivated and adaptable individual with a wide skill set and the ability to quickly acquire new knowledge. You will join their Engineering Services team as an Operations Engineer within the Network Operations Centre (NOC).

Key Responsibilities

As a NOC Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of cloud communication platforms. Youll be required to strictly follow standard operating procedures and collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including Engineering Services Support, Operations teams, Project Managers, third-party carriers, strategic partners, and technology vendors.

Your main duties will include:

  • Real-time monitoring of cloud communication platforms.
  • Acknowledging, reviewing, and resolving alerts through incident and change management processes.
  • Capacity monitoring and reviewing historical logs (Windows, Linux, and proprietary logs).
  • Updating and improving platform monitoring procedures.
  • Developing processes and documentation.
  • Shift work, including overnight, on a rota basis.
Essential Requirements
  • A strong educational background (2:1 or above degree, BBB or above at A levels)..
  • Strong time management and planning skills.
  • High level of IT and computer literacy.
  • Experience working in a NOC environment.
  • Proficiency with Windows servers and SQL Server.
  • Strong diagnostic abilities for server and network-related issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to produce incident reports.
  • A hardworking, ambitious, and friendly attitude.
