Your new companyAn award-winning Top Tier MEP Contractor, experiencing continuous growth and an enviable client base throughout the UK&I, is seeking a Planner/Programmer for a multi-million pound major project in Belfast.Your new roleThe successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating project programmes, ensuring timely delivery and efficient resource allocation. This role involves working closely with both office-based and site-based staff, contractors, and suppliers to ensure consistency and alignment across all phases of MEP projects.

Develop, maintain, and review project programmes at both pre-contract and post-contract stages.
Generate progress reports and update project schedules and forecasts using software like Microsoft Project or Asta.
Utilise project management tools to effectively plan and manage project timeframes.
Collaborate with Estimators to determine the resources needed for projects.
Create contingency plans to address potential changes in project timelines.
Meet with contractors and suppliers to discuss and review programme-related issues.
Coordinate between office and site teams to ensure consistency in programmes and sequencing.
Develop procurement and design programmes that align with agreed construction timelines.
Conduct critical reviews of programmes for Extension of Time (EOT) requests, identifying delays, hold-ups, and additional work.
Maintain a basic understanding of EOT/Compensation Events requirements to ensure accurate programme adjustments.

What you'll need to succeed

Approximately 5 years of planning experience.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Proficiency in using planning software such as Asta and Microsoft Project.
Analytical thinking with a focus on problem-solving.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Persistence, determination, and a results-driven mindset.
Possession of a valid UK driving licence.

Desirable Requirements:

Knowledge of building services and their sequencing.
