z/OS System Programmer

Initial 3-month contract role

Fully Remote

£500 - £550, Outside IR35

We are working with a Global Technology partner who are currently recruiting for a Mainframe System Programmer to join their team on an initial 3-month contract.

Responsibilities:

Planning hardware and software system upgrades and changes in configuration.
Automating operations.
Capacity planning.
Running installation jobs and scripts.
Performing installation-specific customization tasks.
Integration-testing the new products with existing applications and user procedures.
System-wide performance tuning to meet required levels of service.

Requirements:

Strong experience configuring and administering a wide range of systems such as z/OS, Db2 and MQ etc.
Experience working independently with a broad technical remit.
Experience working in a medium size environment.
