Requirements

  • Level 2 Food Safety qualification, or a commitment to complete
  • Experience of working in the hospitality/catering industry
  • Discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Flexible approach with a focus on service and performance
  • Calm, patient and positive in their interaction
  • Due to the nature of the role, candidates will be suject to enhanced vetting including an enhanced Access NI check

Responsibilities

  • Provide the individual with support in their place of work to ensure they achieve the required job performance; providing assistance with a range of tasks/duties including;
    • Lifting, carrying, pulling, or pushing, including the lifting of weights above 12.5kgs'
    • Any tasks which require to kneel,
    • Any tasks which require standing for long periods
  • Ensuring that the support service promotes empowerment and independence
  • To support the individual in their place of work remains at the centre of their responsibilities.
  • To develop and maintain professional working relationships with service users and work colleagues
  • To ensure the effective application of health and safety procedures for all staff and learners within the College
  • To undertake such other relevant duties as may be reasonably expected of the post holder.
  • The post holder will be required to work within the working hours of the staff member to be supported in the workplace, however, this will be agreed on appointment.
  • To promote, implement and ensure compliance with all College policies and procedures. In particular, to ensure equality of opportunity and the effective application of health and safety procedures for all staff and learners within the Academic Catering Department.
  • To assist the department's contribution to the achievement of the College's mission, values, and strategic directions.
  • To fully support the development of the College as a responsive provider of high-quality services.
