Senior Mechanical Engineer - Glasgow (Hybrid Working)

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a team involved in a major technical support framework for a critical nuclear infrastructure program. This framework, spanning seven years with a possible extension of three years, will deliver specialist nuclear technical services valued between £250-£400 million, supporting defense infrastructure and wider national requirements.

The role focuses on delivering refurbishment and upgrades to critical infrastructure in a highly regulated environment, ensuring safety, security, and efficiency.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Promote effective cooperation across engineering and other functional teams.
  • Assist in the management of customer relationships, working closely with existing and new clients to resolve technical and delivery issues, ensuring clear communication and progress updates.
  • Ensure procedures, codes, and standards are correctly applied to engineering and technical activities.
  • Contribute to project safety assessments.
  • Produce, review, and approve engineering calculations, analyses, drawings, models, and technical reports.
  • Maintain engineering configuration and ensure design integrity throughout the project lifecycle.

This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, offering hybrid working with 2 days in the office/on-site and 3 days working from home.

Essential Experience:

  • Collaborative experience in multi-discipline teams, delivering activities across various project types.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle a range of complex tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interface with other engineering disciplines.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
