Responsible for:Surveying (Heat Sink survey control, H&S, QMS for Construction & I&M)
Key Tasks & responsibilities:
1Be part of a team of Surveyors and lead & work with Surveyors / Assistant Surveyors to ensure the3D survey control, 3D laser scanning works, setting out and QA records are completed in a timely manner across the project. All survey datums and survey control to be established in line with programme requirements in locations as agreed with construction team in advance of following works. To ensure that the survey control used therein is observed to the required project accuracies to maintain high standard results throughout the project.
Check the works during progress and on completion to ensure that it has been constructed in line with the design information provided, measured before covering up and that information is passed to the QS and QA function
2To ensure all equipment used is regularly site calibrated and fit for use reporting all faults or out of specification items the Project & Principal surveyors
3Mentoring of junior staff to ensure continued training and professional development setting and reviewing benchmarks, assessment periods and goals.
4To follow the BYLOR surveying procedures and to maintain adherence to the procedures.
5To report if variation is required to the H&S documentation relative engineering surveying activities to the supervising engineering surveyor or manager. To brief the relevant workforce upon its content.
6To provide a reports and analysis on the variations as recorded during the current construction phase or current epoch of results for review by the Principal or Project surveyors
7To attend project briefings and meetings w.r.t. works undertaken where applicable as required by the engineering surveying manager.
8Communicate with engineers, foremen, gangers, workforce and sub-contractors to ensure full understanding of information provided
Education and Professional Membership
- Minimum 3 GCSEs (Mathematics, English and a Science): (Essential)
- Degree in Land Surveying/Engineering Surveying: (Desirable)
- or ONC/B Tec in Land Surveying/Engineering surveyor and five years in the role as a Engineering Surveyor & Surveyor
- Membership (or working towards membership) of CICES
CSCS card requirementsCSCS supervisor level card
Experience requirements
- At least 5 years at a senior level and 10 years in engineering surveying in construction.
- Computer competence - MS Office, StarNet,. 3D Civil Cad, Cyclone, 3DReshaper and other specific surveying software)
- Extensive knowledge of Leica Total Station and3D Laser Scanning instruments and associated software
- Understanding of Design & Engineering Drawings weekly Programmes and relevant QA procedures.
