A bit about the role:
Were looking for a Senior Product Sales Specialist to take ownership of our Metal Detection and Vibratory product lines.This role plays a key part in formulating and implementing competitive strategies, working closely with internal teams to align product development with market demands.
As the bridge between customer needs and our capabilities, you will be responsible for the promotion, sales, and successful execution of assigned product portfolios particularly within Metal Detection and Vibratory Feeders and Conveyors. Youll work closely with the sales teams to grow sales, provide technical support and enhancing the company brand further.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategically manage the growth of assigned products within Metal Detection and Vibratory, ensuring their success in the market.
- Lead the analysis of competitor products and activities.
- Coordinate product requirement specifications, sales forecasts, and inventory management with Engineering and Manufacturing.
- Develop competitive pricing strategies to maximise market share and profitability.
- Oversee product introductions in collaboration with the Global Product Team, ensuring alignment with company strategy.
- Create and implement advanced sales training programmes, mentoring junior specialists.
- Work closely with field representatives, distributors, and end-users to create high-impact sales programmes.
- Recommend and price complex equipment solutions tailored to customer applications.
- Serve as the primary liaison and problem-solver for customers, field reps, and internal departments, resolving complex application issues.
- Lead key sales calls and training initiatives with field representatives and distributors.
- Represent the company at trade shows and industry events, often as the lead spokesperson.
- Manage special design and specification requirements for high-value OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) customers.
- Partner with Market Managers to develop and drive sales strategies, forecasts, and market development initiatives.
- Oversee the creation and distribution of product documentation and marketing materials.
- Write product and application news releases, technical papers, and conference presentations.
- Provide expert-level application assistance, quoting, and customer support for assigned products.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of product policies, pricing, and features.
What Were Looking For:
- Knowledge of Metal Detection equipment and/ or Vibratory Feeders and Conveyors.
- Ability to travel as required (approx. 30%), sometimes at short notice.
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills, able to engage effectively with individuals and groups.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work on your initiative.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Sage CRM.
- Extensive computer literacy and organisational skills.
- A degree or diploma in Business or an Engineering discipline is preferred.
- Experience in selling capital equipment would be advantageous
