Hays are partnering with a wholesaler to recruit for a Senior Buyer in their Schoolwear team.

Your new role

As the Senior Buyer,you will be responsible to drive the future of the product strategy for 1880Club Schoolwear. Being proactive to gain insights from the market, yourcustomer base and colleagues, you will look for opportunities to develop andimprove the product offering and work those opportunities through with thenetwork of suppliers.On a seasonal basis,you will co-ordinate and control all aspects of development and delivery of theschoolwear collection from conception to fulfilment.You will overseeproduction programming, demand planning and quality control systems andprocedures. You will strive to maximise performance in relation to costefficiency and delivery schedules.Working with aninternational supply base, you will negotiate prices, lead times and terms oftrade, managing all aspects of order fulfilment including freight and efficientimport procedures.What you'll need to succeed

  • The successful candidate will be well organised and flexible, a good team player with a methodical approach and the ability to meet deadlines. In addition, they must beresilient, an effective problem solver, with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Third level education in a related field.
  • An analytical mind and with a methodical approach and the ability to effectively interpret data.
  • A high level of IT literacy, including MS Office.
  • A full driving licence and valid passport.
