Cedar is seeking a detail-oriented Research Finance Manager to join a rapidly growing, dynamic department within an esteemed higher education institute in the South East. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering the department's grant and funding administration, ensuring compliance with funding regulations and supporting with budget setting and financial advice.
Rate: £22 - £28 per hour (Inside IR35)
Location: South East
Hybrid Pattern: 2-3 days on site per week
Contract Length: 3 months
Responsibilities
- Assist with the development and implementation of strategies and processes to facilitate enhancements to research income and outputs within the department
- Spearhead grant and funding administration and general management of ongoing and pending research projects.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies and funding agency regulations.
- Oversee the deliverance of financial data on funding costs and proposals.
- Collaborate with Principal Investigators on the preparation of funding applications.
- Review proposal budgets and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Ensure the relevant administration for new awards is completed accurately and efficiently.
- Monitor expenditure against grant budget and provide post-award support.
Requirements
- Educated to degree level equivalent.
- Solid knowledge of research funding processes within a Higher Education institute or similar.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and online financial systems.
