We are seeking a Strike Mission Planning Control Systems Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and integration of mission-critical control systems for advanced strike capabilities. This role involves developing and enhancing control systems that enable effective planning and execution of military operations.

You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge technology that enhances mission effectiveness and ensure that control systems are robust, scalable, and secure.

The role accommodates a hybrid work approach, allowing a blend of on-site and remote working typically 3-5 days on-site a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and managing a small group of engineers on a day-to-day basis.
  • Ensuring suitable planning is undertaken to maintain project progress and deliver on time and on cost.
  • Working closely with internal and external partners to support product lifecycle stages, including requirements definition, design generation, proving, and certification activities.
  • Transitioning to a technical lead or work package lead role for Export programmes, typically managing a small team.
  • Supporting the products as they go into service.
  • Contributing across the full product lifecycle from design to delivery.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong background in systems engineering, with an appreciation for considerations across the full lifecycle.
  • Experience in modelling and simulation, with proficiency in tools such as SimuLink and DOORS.
  • Ability to rapidly learn and understand highly complex problems.
  • Experience in working with requirements and design in a hierarchical and traceable structure under configuration control.
  • Proficiency with DOORS NG (Classic acceptable) and IBM Engineering Workflow Management (formerly Rational Team Concert).
  • Understanding of how Model Based Systems Engineering can be utilised within the lifecycle and an ability to understand SysML would be of significant benefit.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong desire to build effective relationships and work collaboratively.

Benefits:

  • Annual bonus potential.
  • 25 days of annual leave, with the option to purchase more.
  • Flexible working arrangements and support for ongoing learning.
  • Comprehensive health and dental insurance options, among others.
  • Enhanced Parental Leave: offers up to 26 weeks for maternity, adoption and shared parental leave. Enhancements are available for paternity leave, neonatal leave and fertility testing and treatments.
  • Facilities: Including subsidised meals.
