About Us:
Randstad is delighted to work with the 14+ Leaving Care team in Northumberland to recruit an experienced and passionate Social Worker.
This role focuses on supporting young people transitioning from care into independence, helping them build the skills and resilience they need for their future.

Job Description:
As a 14+ Leaving Care Social Worker, you will work with young people aged 14 and above who are preparing to leave care.
You will provide direct support, guidance, and advocacy, helping them navigate the challenges of transitioning to independent living. This role requires a strong understanding of the care system and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with young people.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of young people aged 14+ who are preparing to leave care.
  • Conduct assessments to identify the needs and aspirations of young people.
  • Develop and implement pathway plans to support the transition to independent living.
  • Work closely with education, housing, and health services to provide holistic support.
  • Advocate for young people, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are upheld.
  • Provide practical advice on life skills, education, employment, and housing options.
  • Monitor and review pathway plans, ensuring they reflect the changing needs and goals of the young person.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with legal and professional standards.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience working with young people in care or leaving care.
  • Strong knowledge of the legal framework and procedures related to care leavers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build trust with young people.
  • Ability to manage a complex caseload and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
