Myn is recruiting for a Social Worker to join our long-term partners Fostering Team in the West Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference by supporting foster carers and helping provide the best outcomes for children in care.
What Youll Do:
Supervise and support foster carers, helping them provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in their care.
Participate in the recruitment and assessment of new foster carers.
Act as a duty officer, liaising with district social workers and conducting initial viability assessments for new carers.
Stay informed on legal guidelines and National Minimum Standards to ensure foster carers comply with regulations.
Attend Fostering Panels and Court as needed, advocating for the best interests of foster children and carers.
What Were Looking For:
A recognised social work qualification (e.g. DipSW, CQSW, CSS).
Experience working with families and children, especially in situations where substitute care has been provided.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, comprehensive assessments and reports.
Ability to work collaboratively with children, parents, carers, and colleagues from other agencies.
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage a diverse workload.
A commitment to anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive practice, with a focus on equality and diversity.
