The Role
As a Social Worker in Children's Services, you will:
  • Manage a diverse caseload of children and families.
  • Conduct assessments, reviews, and prepare welfare reports.
  • Attend court hearings and advocate for the best interests of children.
  • Develop and review action plans and care plans to safeguard and promote children's welfare.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in early help, prevention, and wider partnership teams.
  • Address new and challenging situations with creativity and discipline.
  • Work across varied settings in the region, each offering unique challenges and rewards.

About You
To excel in this role, youll need:
  • A degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent.Completed Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).
  • Post-qualification experience managing complex children and family caseloads.
  • Strong skills in assessing, reviewing, and planning actions to promote children's welfare.
  • Exceptional teamworking and partnership skills.
  • Resilience, creativity, and commitment to help children and families overcome challenges.
  • Youll also need to be flexible and mobile, as the role may require travelling across the county, often to rural areas where public transport options are limited.
