Engineering Technician - Tyne and Wear
Overview
We are seeking an Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics testing and optics engineering and will play a vital role in supporting our engineering department and conduct on-site installation, service and support activities for worldwide customers.
Responsibilities
- Conduct electrical, electronic and mechanical testing and troubleshooting of new and existing products
- Assist in the assembly and calibration of optical systems
- Collaborate with engineers to develop and improve testing procedures
- Maintain accurate records of test results and equipment calibration
- Support the design and implementation of optical and electronic prototypes
- Help in the development and improvement of test fixtures and equipment
Qualifications
- A qualification in engineering, electronics or a science based subject to a minimum of ONC level
- Proven experience in electronics testing and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with optical systems and components
- Proficiency in using electronic test equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to quality standards
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Day-to-day
- Testing and troubleshooting electronic components
- Assembling and calibrating optical systems
- Collaborating with engineers to improve testing procedures
- Maintaining accurate records of test results and equipment calibration
- Assisting in the development and improvement of test fixtures and equipment
- Overseas travel to support our global install base
