With over two decades of expertise, our client prides itself on delivering high-quality, accurate surveys across various industries, including rail, highways, and construction. We are currently seeking an early-career Land/Topographical Surveyor to join their team.

About the Role This position is ideal for individuals with at least 1 year of UK-based land surveying experience, particularly those looking to further develop their foundational skills in using GPS, Total Stations, and other standard surveying tools. Highways experience is advantageous but not essential. Based in Sevenoaks, Kent, much of the work is located south of the M4 corridor, extending as far as Swindon. Candidates must be willing to work away from home and/or undertake night work as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of projects with support and minimal oversight.

  • Conduct investigative land surveys and complete necessary paperwork in line with company procedures.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve on-site issues, including equipment, access, and safety concerns.

  • Liaise with site surveyors, contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Perform quality control checks and deliver processed data to CAD.

Essential Qualifications and Skills
  • At least 1 year of UK land surveying experience.

  • Proficiency in using Total Stations, GPS systems, and AutoCAD software.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Experience working in diverse environments, particularly highways.

  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Relevant qualification in Surveying or a related field incorporating Surveying.

  • The right to work in the UK without sponsorship.

Desirable Skills
  • Familiarity with Bentley Microstation, Atlas SCC software, and LSS.

  • Experience with Laser Scanners.

  • A broad understanding of the surveying, utilities, and construction sectors.

  • Proficiency in processing data and producing detailed survey reports.
