Your new companyIt is a leading fuel distributor in Northern Ireland and has been an industry expert for over 50 years. They are now actively recruiting a HGV Mechanic in Derry. Your new roleThe main responsibility of the HGV Mechanic is to ensure the smooth operating of their transport function with inspections, MOT prep diagnostic work and fault-finding, repairs and maintenance and assisting at breakdowns and recording essential maintenance paperwork.Other responsibilities include;

  • Carrying out automotive electrical work
  • Responsible vehicle/maintenance site security as appropriate
  • Produce vehicle defect diagnosis reports and communicate the outcomes with the service manager

What you'll need to succeed

  • City and Guilds Level 3, BTEC or NVQ in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
  • Worked in a workshop environment within the last two years, carrying out similar responsibilities that display your sense of team work.
  • Practical knowledge of modern diagnostic equipment/ techniques
