Mechanical Fitter

Knaresborough

MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Fitter to join a waste management plant near Knaresborough. Responsible for supporting the mechanical maintenance team in maintaining all aspects of mechanical plant, equipment and services.

As the Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for:

  • Rectifying problems on mechanical assets such as conveyor belts, pumps, gearboxes, valves and cranes
  • Be responsible for PPM and Reactive maintenance work, ensuring the highest standards are set and maintained
  • Assist with and actively participate in planned outages
  • Carry out Fabrication work and general workshop duties
  • Assist in delivering Maintenance Team KPIs
  • Effectively use the site CMMS system
  • Participate in team briefings and toolbox talks
  • Ensure full compliance with appropriate Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards, policies, and procedures
  • Other duties as required

To be considered for this role you should have:

  • A Mechanical Technical Apprenticeship, Level 3 NVQ/BTEC in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proven knowledge/experience working on the following aspects of mechanical systems: Conveyor belts, Valves, Gearboxes, Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems
  • Ability to carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks
  • Ability fault-find and repair mechanical assets
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • Experience/knowledge of safe systems of work including permit to work, method statements and risk assessments
  • Experience writing Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
