(Day/Night Shift Rotation)

MC Technical Recruitment are currently seeking an Industrial Mechanical Fitter to join the team at a Waste Treatment Plant near Knaresborough. This is a hands-on, entry-to-mid-level mechanical role ideal for candidates with a mechanical background who are either early in their career or looking to grow within an industrial environment. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers to carry out repairs and maintenance on critical equipment including conveyor belts, pumps, valves, and more.

As the Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for:

Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults across site machinery
Supporting planned maintenance tasks and assisting during plant shutdowns
Performing fabrication and workshop duties
Operating workshop machinery and working on refurbishment projects
Promoting a strong culture of safety and compliance
Developing your technical knowledge through practical training and mentorship
Working as part of a rotating shift pattern:

Week 1: Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm
Week 2: Monday to Friday, 10pm – 6am

Other duties as required

To be considered for this role, you should have:

Practical mechanical experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or engineering environment
A relevant mechanical qualification (desirable but not essential)
A proactive and team-focused mindset
Willingness to learn and develop in a fast-paced setting

Basic salary of £34,500
