THE JOB ROLE

Due to our continues success and rapid growth this is a fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated and enthusiastic Mineral Planning and Estates professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be based at our new Head Office in Kincardine and will play a key role in the development of the future land supply of our business with responsibility for a substantial portfolio of mineral extraction and processing sites, estates and other land assets.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Manage and assist in the development of the Tillicoultry Quarries Mineral Estate portfolio.
  • Taking the lead on planning projects, including the submission of applications, monitoring throughout the determination process, responding to comments and discharging planning conditions.
  • Provide expert advice to the operational business to ensure the license to operate is maintained.
  • Assist with the identification, assessment and securing of new land and mineral opportunities which have the potential for future development.
  • Work closely with landowners and/or agents to ensure progress of land acquisition targets and planning applications.
  • Engage with local planning authorities to promote sites and discuss development proposals through formal and informal routes.
  • Liaising with and advising operational and commercial colleagues on site development, estates management, planning and environmental issues linked to the development of assets.
  • Engage with stakeholders to develop relationships and participate in local liaison events to keep local communities engaged in our activities.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Degree or post graduate level qualified in a relevant discipline and, preferably qualified in planning.
  • Experience working within the extractives industry.
  • An excellent knowledge of the planning process and minerals planning practice including the current methods, legislation, techniques and guidance which direct the services we provide.
  • Ability to build a rapport with a variety of people from all backgrounds.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint (ideally at advanced level)
  • Good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong problem-solver with agility and a proactive approach to work.
  • Ability to manage time effectively.
  • Adaptable, flexible with the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Full UK Driving License and willingness to travel around UK sites.
