Role - Equipment Qualification Project Officer
Location - Aztec West, Bristol
Pay rate - 230 - 250 per day
Hours - Full Time 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day
About the role
Equipment Qualification Project Officer is responsible for the measurement, facilitation and resolution of equipment qualification issues and opportunities that may affect the delivery of specific scope, equipment, or systems with respect to technical requirements, delivery against the clients Integrated Work Schedule (IWS) and cost/commercial aspects.
This post has the principal responsibility to manage, monitor, report and ensure delivery against the EQ baseline for our clients project. This includes to responsibility for update, maintenance, and reporting against the HPC EQ Summary Tracker - a database of all equipment qualification activity on the HPC project including:
- Equipment Qualification to Accidental Conditions (EQAC);
- Extended Qualification according to UK context (specifically, Smart Device and Dedicated I&C Qualification).
This post will help ensure that equipment qualification issues are identified, tracked, managed and resolved in a controlled and timely manner such that the delivery is in accordance with all safety, quality, time and cost parameters to meet the needs of the Project.
The tracking of Qualification data is to be carried out using various tools within the Microsoft 365 suite (Excel, Power Query, Power BI, Power Automate).
The Equipment Qualification Directorate:
The Equipment Qualification Project Officer (EQ Baseline) will support the overall key HPC Equipment Qualification Directorate principles and roles in relation to:
- Oversee qualification across the HPC project (in terms of both disciplines and programmes).
- Full lifecycle approach from design to operations.
- Supporting approach both for the programme delivery and toward the Supply Chain - contractors and broader supply chain.
- Key interface with RD Engineering to ensure delivery of qualification requirements, common data, OPEX and risk management.
- Supports to PMs for EQ delivery in Programmes.
- The scope of the Equipment Qualification Directorate encompasses:
- Equipment Qualification to Accidental Conditions.
- Extended Qualification according to UK context (specifically, Smart Device and Dedicated I&C System Qualification).
Specific Role Requirements:
The focus of the Equipment Qualification Project Manager (EQ Baseline) will relate to:
- Responsibility to manage, monitor and report against the EQ baseline for the HPC project.
- Management of the HPC EQ Summary Tracker (a database of all equipment qualification activity on the HPC project) - updates, reporting and monitoring against KPIs.
- Secretariat role to the Equipment Qualification Steering Committee (EQSC) - meeting organisation/scheduling/paper preparation and supporting/progressing/monitoring actions etc.
- Where required support to Project Management of cross cutting qualification mutualisation projects.
- Interface management with PMs across the HPC programmes - and key stakeholders in RD, PWRT and Suppliers.
- Support to monitoring and resolution of project issues related to qualification.
- Production and presentation of strategy supporting documentation related to qualification for governance approvals i.e. EQSC, Codem, ROTC etc
- Downloading various data sets from different data repository types.
- Cleansing and transformation of data.
- Production of visualisations using Excel and / or Power BI
Principal Accountabilities:
Accountable to the Equipment Qualification Delivery SPM and relevant Senior Project Manager/ Project Managers within the HPC delivery programmes to:
- Maintain effective communications with all stakeholders.
- Monitor and communicate the status of EQ delivery across the HPC project.
- Identify and drive the delivery of resolution to ensure that EQ issues and opportunities are delivered safely on time, to budget, meeting business & technical requirements.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all project team members.
- Develop and present reasoned and evidenced information to key stakeholders, EQ Team, EQSC, Project Managers.
- Ensuring updated and accurate data is presented in line with the EQ drumbeat.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience of supporting projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment whilst ensuring high levels of safety, security, and environmental responsibility, within the Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated environment.
- Has excellent IT skills in relation to data management, reporting and data interpretation (MS Excel, Power Query, Power BI)
- Able to work with multiple stakeholder partners in a complex technical environment.
- Excellent communication skills and an inquisitive nature.
- Working knowledge of French language is an advantage.
- A degree in an engineering, construction, physics, or other related fields is an advantage.
- Membership of a recognised Engineering Institution is an advantage.
