Are you a Civil Technical Lead looking for your next venture? A leading company that operates in highly regulated industries is seeking a Civil Technical Lead to join the Sizewell C project team on a permanent staff basis in Bristol.

The successful Civil Technical Lead will be responsible for managing several civil engineering design contracts, ensuring that technical specifications are properly defined and met by the respective contract holders.


Key Responsibilities: Civil Technical Lead

  • Provide expert technical support on civil design topics, including the production and review of deliverables, participation in technical meetings, and oversight of document reviews.
  • Lead technical reviews of specifications and contribute to design surveillance activities.
  • Participate in and support the lessons learned process to capture best practices and improve future project delivery.
  • Ensure adherence to technical specifications by contract holders and manage technical surveillance of contractor studies.
  • Develop and implement surveillance programmes and prepare corresponding annual reports.
  • Manage the resolution of technical queries from contractors.
  • Organise and lead weekly and monthly progress review meetings.
  • Drive continuous improvement of contract management tools and processes.
  • Support and lead technical discussions and clarifications with contractors and project stakeholders.
  • Interface with the client organisation to ensure alignment and collaboration.
  • Capture and disseminate lessons learned for the benefit of the wider project team.


Key Requirements: Civil Technical Lead

  • Chartered Civil Engineer
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Significant experience in civil design engineering
  • Experience working in the nuclear sector or on large infrastructure projects
  • In-depth understanding of civil engineering codes and standards
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to civil design
  • Familiarity with the UK nuclear project design lifecycle is desirable
  • Experience working on the Hinkley Point C project would be an advantage
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Working knowledge of PDMS (or equivalent 3D design software), TEKLA, and/or Navisworks
