Our client has a current opportunity for a Manufacturing Technician to join their production team on a permanent basis.

As Manufacturing Technician, your role will be the interface between manufacturing and engineering functions and will be the first responder to any issues that are experienced with any of the machinery. Whilst able to carry out basic fault finding and resetting of equipment, as Manufacturing Technician, you will be able to articulate the more complicated issues to the Engineering team to address and fix.

Main Duties:

  • To diagnose faults and to test, basic repair and maintain some primary processing equipment and machinery using the necessary methods in a safe and proper manner.
  • To observe, recognise and report on machinery or component defects or symptoms of impending failure.
  • To carry out basic adjustment and change settings/recipes on equipment to maximise output and quality of raw material.
  • To examine machinery and equipment and report on condition, performance and plan of action for improvements.
  • Support reactive / breakdown repair through the site reporting process.
  • To report accidents and near misses immediately and assist in investigation where required.
  • Coaching of operators / Apprentices with asset care tasks if required.
  • Use route cause analysis procedure to identify reason for failure.
  • Adopt and promote lean processes within the workplace.
  • To undertake training to become competent to carry out a range of assigned tasks across the two manufacturing sites
