Technical Support Officer

We are looking for a 'people person' who has a good understanding of technology and, most importantly, can explain technical solutions to a non-technical audience. Must be flexible, a good team player, and is able to work in our clients office based in Hampshire

TYPICAL ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The primary responsibilities will be planning, scheduling and the setting up of multiple devices for both new & existing staff.
  • Monitoring, managing, and responding to Service Desk calls logged by the Field Enquiry Line or received directly.
  • Providing essential 'first line' support to our remote workers - this involves prioritising calls, diagnosing faults, researching effective resolutions, providing advice, setting up and dispatching replacement equipment, and maintaining records accurately and efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
  • Support the roll-out of new applications.
  • Set up new users' accounts and profiles and deal with password issues.
  • Liaising with other technical functions, to resolve queries in a timely manner, escalating critical issues where necessary

Essential Criteria

  • Analytical and decision-making skills will be required, as will the ability to work independently with little manager input.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to instruct and explain information simply to a non-technical audience.
  • An awareness of data security principles
  • A desire to learn, with evidence of proactively developing knowledge, skills, and behaviours.
  • Ability to prioritise workload.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving user requests/incidents.
  • Experience of working with a range of Microsoft 365 services
