A client of mine who is a leading Property Landlord is looking to recruit a Head of Health & Safety to focus predominantly on their retirement living homes. To partner with, and ensure that health and safety is effectively led, within the over 55's and housing areas of the business. To support this business area to achieve compliance with all statutory health, safety and welfare provisions under health and safety legislation. To work in collaboration with the business regarding health and safety compliance. Working closely with the Health and Safety Director and other leaders within the business, ensure that health and safety is promoted, and positive safety culture fostered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with leadership to implement health and safety policies for the over 55's and housing sectors.
  • Provide expert advice on health and safety management.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align policies and procedures across the organization.
  • Support operational directors in developing health and safety delivery plans.
  • Embed a proactive health and safety culture in all areas.
  • Assist the Health and Safety Director in providing assurance and management information.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior management and frontline teams.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and maintain safe work environments.
  • Establish effective compliance and performance frameworks, managing risks.
  • Contribute to Group policies and develop specific procedures as needed.
  • Monitor health and safety standards, reporting findings to management.
  • Participate in Health & Safety Working Groups and advise on welfare matters.
  • Coordinate communication and training on health and safety obligations.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments, reporting outcomes.
  • Liaise with external bodies to maintain compliance and best practices.
  • Ensure the well-being of direct reports.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
  • CMIOSH Status or Working towards
  • Proven track record of working at "Head of Status" reporting into a Director
  • Working with property Portfolios in excess of 30,000
