Senior / Lead Instrument Engineer

We are seeking a Senior/Lead Instrument Engineer to join a leading UK-based company working on cutting-edge projects in the Oil & Gas, Hydrogen, and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) sectors. • Process Control & Safety Systems: Lead the design, maintenance, and optimization of process control and safety systems, ensuring safe and efficient operations in line with project objectives.

• Collaboration with Engineering: Work closely with the Engineering Department to plan, review, and execute tasks aimed at reducing project backlog and improving project delivery timelines.

• Plant Enhancements: Identify opportunities for plant improvements and develop detailed project scopes and timelines for effective execution.

• Safety Systems Design: Lead the design and integration of new safety systems as part of capital projects to enhance plant safety and operational efficiency.

• SIS & Control System Upgrades: Take ownership of the specification, testing, and commissioning of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and control system upgrades.

• Documentation & Reporting: Deliver critical documentation such as SIL verification calculations, SIL reports, and Safety Requirement Specifications to ensure compliance with safety standards.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Instrumentation Engineering.

• Extensive experience in the Oil and Gas industry, with a deep understanding of operational processes and system requirements.

• Strong knowledge of engineering practices related to process control and safety systems.

• Proven experience in Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and control system integration for capital projects.
