Job Title: Interim Estates Maintenance Manager / Contracts Manager

Contract Type: 12-months interim

Our client, a local authority in Hampshire, is seeking an experienced Interim Estates Maintenance Manager (Voids) / Contracts Manager to join their Housing Operations and Voids Services team. The successful candidate will oversee the management of contractors and direct labour responsible for void repair works and regeneration properties, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage contractors and direct labour teams carrying out void repair works.
  • Oversee the making safe of regeneration properties, ensuring all works meet required standards.
  • Set up and lead regular performance meetings with contractors and internal teams, ensuring that projects progress in line with agreed timescales and targets.
  • Deliver void repairs within tight deadlines, ensuring properties are prepared for re-occupation quickly and efficiently.
  • Coordinate and schedule subcontractors to ensure timely and effective delivery of services.
  • Ensure compliance with Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations and manage all aspects of health and safety on site.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience in managing contractors and direct labour in a property maintenance or construction environment, specifically in voids management or day-to-day repairs.
  • Strong knowledge of CDM compliance and health & safety regulations.
  • Experience in project management, including project programming, finance management, and scheduling of subcontractors.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and deliver projects within tight timescales.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver results.
