About the role
The project is valued at circa 200m and involves a major motorway upgrade in South Hampshire to facilitate a major new residential development. This project has a life cycle of 2+ years with a further potential 3 years once it has been re-mobilised to Winchester. They are seeking to appoint, on a permanent basis, a Section / Senior Engineer to assist in the timely and successful delivery of the project. This is a 75% office / 25% site-based position whereby the successful individual will be responsible for several Site Engineers and will be responsible for technical design and quality elements of their section with a supporting Sub Agent / Agent.
Section / Senior Engineer duties include:
- Management of a section of works
- Training & mentoring of Site Engineers
- Advising the engineering team with solutions to technical challenges
- Assist in production and integration of 3-week programmes
- Manage designs from the inhouse and external designers
- Support the project team with construction methodology and sequencing
- Collaborate with the project team on resource, plant and material requirements
- Training and mentoring the junior members of the engineering team
- Demonstrate value engineering throughout the construction process
- Managing RFI's and Technical Queries
