Childrens Residential Support Worker

A specialised secure residential facility that accommodates up to ten children facing complex attachment issues, mental health challenges, and behavioural difficulties. Recognised as Outstanding by Ofsted in 2024, it offers a safe and therapeutic environment for some of the most vulnerable youth (10-17yo).

About the role:
  • You will be part of a dedicated team of professional carers, collaborating to create a structured, stimulating, and nurturing atmosphere within our well-equipped home.
  • Your primary responsibility will be to serve as a 'therapeutic parent' and role model, fostering positive and trusting relationships that help the children feel secure and cared for.
  • You will work alongside a diverse team focused on education and health and well-being, engaging in enjoyable activities that benefit both the children and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding are essential qualities for this role, especially when dealing with challenging behaviours.
  • The position offers a shift pattern that includes alternate weekends, with a mix of early and late shifts as well as sleep-in duties to accommodate your work-life balance. Flexible working arrangements can be discussed.
  • Upon starting, you will undergo a comprehensive four-week induction program that includes mandatory training.
