We are working with an Accountancy Practice looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant who is AAT qualified or working towards level 4 where the client will offer study support and leave. You must have hands-on experience in practice to be considered for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure accurate bookkeeping.
  • Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and tax filings.
  • Conduct month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Support senior accountants with ad-hoc financial tasks and projects.
  • Maintain and update financial records in compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Liaise with clients and address their accounting queries professionally.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • AAT qualification is essential or working towards level 4
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in an accounting practice.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
