We are working with an Accountancy Practice looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant who is AAT qualified or working towards level 4 where the client will offer study support and leave. You must have hands-on experience in practice to be considered for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure accurate bookkeeping.
- Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and tax filings.
- Conduct month-end and year-end close processes.
- Support senior accountants with ad-hoc financial tasks and projects.
- Maintain and update financial records in compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
- Liaise with clients and address their accounting queries professionally.
Qualifications and Skills:
- AAT qualification is essential or working towards level 4
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in an accounting practice.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
