A market-leading Mechanical and Electrical Contractor is seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join their team. This role involves overseeing function testing, process commissioning, and reliability testing of installed equipment on various contracts and product installations.

Key Responsibilities:


路Support and Testing: Test electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation installations by teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
路Health & Safety: Ensure adherence to required standards, policies, and statutory regulations for Health & Safety.
路Planning: Develop and implement testing and commissioning plans.
路Technical Meetings: Organize and attend technical meetings with client and contractor stakeholders.
路System Inspection: Inspect systems to ensure they meet relevant British, ISO, and client standards.
路Function Testing: Commission electrical installations, SCADA systems, instrumentation, and automation systems, ensuring compliance with system specifications and best practices.
路Sample Analysis: Facilitate the analysis of raw and treated samples.
路Reporting: Compile commissioning reports, method statements, and schedules.
路Standards Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards and legislation.
路Troubleshooting: Participate in troubleshooting functional or process performance issues.
路Communication: Maintain regular contact with the Project Manager, project engineers, client teams, and supply chain for smooth commissioning and handover processes.
路Documentation: Support and review Operation & Maintenance Manuals.
路Training: Train site operators on the use of installed equipment and systems.
路Additional Duties: Perform other duties as required, consistent with the job-holder's knowledge and skills.

Key Skills & Experience:
路Qualifications: Degree, HND, HNC, or equivalent in engineering, science, or a similar field.
路Experience: Minimum of four years' postgraduate experience in a similar role within the utilities sector and/or M&E engineering environment.
路Technical Expertise: Extensive experience in industrial/commercial electrical and ICA design, assembly, installation, testing, and commissioning, ideally in the water sector.
路Electrical Systems: Experience with Low Voltage (LV) and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems, including conditioning, conversion, interpretation, digital I/O, relay control logic, and instrumentation.
路Certifications: Electrically qualified to a minimum of 18th Edition, C&G 2391 Inspection & Test, and ideally hold a current JIB Gold Card.
路Competency: Experience as an NIC-EIC Competent Person is an advantage.
路Communication: Strong communication skills, able to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
路Industry Experience: Experience within the UK water industry is highly desirable.
路Flexibility: Willingness to be based at the work site, with regular regional and nationwide travel (including overnight stays) as required.
路Driving Licence: Full driving licence; any existing endorsements must be declared in the application.
