Contract Type: Permanent, full-time (all year round)

Salary: 12.80-13.03 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Hours: 32-40 hours per week between 7.45am-6.15pm Monday to Friday (shifts available)

Overview of the role of Room Leader

We are seeking an enthusiastic qualified Nursery Practitioner to join a wonderful, vibrant team at an Ofsed rated 'Outstanding' nursery in Alton, Hampshire.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and a commitment to providing high-quality care and learning experiences for children as you will play a crucial role in fostering a nurturing environment that promotes the social, emotional, and educational development of young learners.

As Room Leader you will support and lead a team of dedicated Practitioners to ensure that all of the children's educational and emotional needs are met.

Duties of the role of Room Leader

  • Provide attentive and responsive care to children aged 0-5 years, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Lead the team with confidence and support at all times
  • Plan and implement engaging educational activities that stimulate children's development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster positive relationships and support children's learning.
  • Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records to inform planning and share with parents.
  • Drive initiatives that promote inclusion and diversity within the nursery setting.
  • Lead small groups of children in various activities, encouraging participation and fostering teamwork among peers.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is essential.
  • A qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent is also required.
  • Strong communication skills in English are required to effectively engage with children and their families.
  • Previous leadership experience is desirable
  • A genuine passion for childcare and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a positive attitude are crucial for success in this role.
