This contract role will cover EMC analysis, validation, verification, and mitigation.
Given the prominent nature of EMC on one of our projects, we are looking for an experienced EMC Engineer to pay specific attention to EMC aspects (including Magnetic Cleanliness and Electrostatic Charging) in the design of the S/C, as well as in AIVT planning (including handling, storage and transport)

• Creating a bottom-up AC electric and magnetic field contributors analysis, considering at least the major contributors and the distance to sensitive equipment, clearly showing the achieved levels at all sensor locations.
• Assess and design accordingly the Solar Array w.r.t. its effects on the budgets, specifically addressing change of electric and magnetic properties in case of string, cell, diode failures, as well as temperature effects and contamination.
• Assess and design accordingly the impact of the booms containing highly magnetically sensitive scientific instruments, w.r.t. hold-down and release mechanisms, synchronization equipment, cabling and shielding etc.
• Assess and optimise the antenna patterns of instruments and platform equipments
• Assess the Spacecraft/Surface charging environment
• Identify and propose suitable testing and verification approaches for the requirements, considering available testing facilities and simulation facilities.
