Our client, a prominent player in the automation, power utilities, energy, and renewables sector, is seeking a dedicated Instrumentation Engineer to join their team. This permanent role involves ensuring the maintenance and seamless operation of the production and gas plant facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identifying, scheduling, and carrying out routine and non-routine maintenance checks and repairs
  • Maintaining various types of process control instrumentation equipment, including transmitters, controllers, and analysers
  • Assisting in or carrying out vendor-specified routine maintenance
  • Ensuring all site services are in good working order and adhere to safe working practices
  • Responding to 24-hour call-outs or providing advice on plant breakdowns outside normal working hours
  • Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of facilities, ensuring the elimination of preventable hazards
  • Assisting during the installation and commissioning of new plant facilities
  • Liaising with and supervising contractors to ensure quality and adherence to company standards
Job Requirements:
  • Experience in controls and instrumentation (CORE), maintenance, and instrumentation
  • Good working knowledge of electrical systems
  • Understanding of the oil and gas industry
  • Ability to work independently or within a team with minimal supervision
  • Ability to plan and prioritise daily activities ensuring safety and efficiency
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to cope with pressured situations
  • IT literacy
  • Instrument qualification (apprenticeship or NVQ level 3) with maintenance experience on related equipment
