Job DetailsJob Title:Additional Learning Support MentorDepartment:Additional Learning SupportCampus:AltonSalary:Grade 3 Spine Point 11 - £23,829.26Contract Type:26 hours / 38 weeks About the RoleHSDC are looking for an Additional Learning Support Mentor to help deliver mentoring support to learners with additional needs, facilitating drop ins and monitoring and regular check ins with EHCP learners. It will also involve doing a cohort of annual reviews to support the EHCP Co-coordinators and ALS Teachers.Responsibilities You will be responsible for:
  • Liaise with teachers and specialist colleagues to help coordinate and implement?support plans for students with EHCPs.
  • Mentor and support EHCP learners who require 1-1 check ins with a trusted member of staff.
  • Monitor and report on progress of students with EHCPs, in preparation for annual review meetings.
  • Be responsible for safeguarding and promotion for the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
  • Liaise with teachers and other colleagues regarding health and wellbeing interventions whilst maintaining appropriate boundaries regarding student confidentiality and legal requirements.
  • Provide the best possible service to customers both internal and external, in line with college standards.
Requirements You will need:
  • English and Maths to at least a level 2
  • Customer Service at L3 or working towards
  • Level 2 / 3 qualification in SEND or working towards
  • Thorough understanding of the barriers to learning faced by students
  • Experience of working with students with disabilities and/or difficulties
  • Capacity to use IT systems to record and monitor ALS data and support processes
