Behaviour Mentor - Alton

Engage Education are currently working in partnership with a specialist SEMH provision on an exciting new position specifically to support learners with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs in the Bentley area.

Starting immediately, the school is looking for an SEMH Support Assistant to join them on a long term basis. If successful during the probationary period, this will lead into a permanent role.

This school is a unique and small environment effective in supporting children with complex behaviours and needs, many of them having experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences.

Having previous experience working with people with challenging behaviours - both children and adults - will be a strong advantage! Anyone from a care, support worker or youth worker is encouraged to apply.

We can provide training to any candidates who show a real passion and eagerness to learn, however, the ideal candidate must have good behaviour management.

Your Role:

  • Supporting learners on a one-to-one basis often with complex behavioural needs

  • Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class

  • Providing feedback to teachers and parents
