As an Accounts Assistant, your role will be integral to the smooth running of our client's finance department. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks including logging and passing invoices, addressing any discrepancies, and preparing BACS payment runs. You will also play a key role in managing inter company invoices and ensuring all missing invoices are accounted for. This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Logging and passing invoices
- Addressing any queries or discrepancies on invoices
- Performing Purchase Ledger Statement Reconciliation
- Preparing the BACS payment run for approval and processing
- Completing payment requests for Ad-hoc payments
- Obtaining missing invoices from suppliers and querying any issues on behalf of management
- Managing intercompany invoices and liaising with both the Service and Parts departments
- Checking the bank for incoming deposits
- Working with the Assistant Finance Managers to ensure any missing invoices are accrued
The ideal candidate for this Accounts Assistant position will bring a range of skills and experience to the role. You should have excellent communication skills, enabling you to effectively deal with suppliers and internal managers. A basic knowledge of Excel is required, along with good accounting knowledge. Experience in reconciling difficult supplier accounts is essential, as is exceptional accuracy and attention to detail. The ability to work well under pressure is also crucial.
